Ertar je protějškem naší vlasti v paralelním vesmíru, kde Zeměkouli odpovídá planeta Ergea. Protože kontakty mezi oběma realitami probíhají náhodně na základě kvantových jevů, jsou vzájemné informace na obou stranách velmi kusé. Oboustranné poznávání je proto předmětem obtížného a vysilujícího vědeckého bádání.
Nepřesnosti a omyly, kterými je nevyhnutelně zatížena práce amatérských ertologů však nejsou jen zábavné, ledacos totiž napoví i o nás samých...
Ertar is a reflection of our country in a parallel space-time continuum, where the planet Ergea is the equivalent of our Earth. As contacts take place as a result of random quantum effects, mutual understanding by the inhabitants on both sides is very limited. The desire to know more about our neighbours requires intense scientific research by a group of devoted ertologists.
The inaccuracies which have been introduced by accident during this fundamental investigation are a source of amusement but they also teach us much about our own personalities.
